We measure usage before migrating
Porting a report nobody opens costs the same as porting a useful one. So we start by finding out what is genuinely used, and deleting the rest before touching anything.
We rebuild the models, not just the screens
A slow report is rarely a tool problem: it is a heavy data model. Migrating without rebuilding it means changing the screen and keeping the problem.
We migrate in batches, with a way back
Deployment standards, versioning, a defined lifecycle, and row-level access control where the data demands it. No batch ships without a way to undo it.
We train the business in self-service
Hands-on workshops on their own data, and an internal community that carries on afterwards. That is what frees the data team from the same requests every week.
