We map what is already there
We start from business domains, not from the tool: what data, produced by whom, used for what. The most mature departments become the model for the rest.
We document in a catalogue the business actually opens
Glossary, dictionary, indicators, lineage. A catalogue only the data team ever opens is worthless: it is the business owners who keep it alive.
We classify what is sensitive
Personal data, regulated data, systems in scope of the AI Act. Classification is not a spreadsheet: it lives in the tool and updates along with the data.
We measure quality, and we keep measuring it
Written rules, computed indicators, an owner per domain. Without measurement, a governance policy is back to being a forty-page document within six months.
